It turns out many Americans aren’t great at identifying which personal decisions contribute most to climate change.
A study recently published by the National Academy of Sciences found that when asked to rank actions, such as swapping a car that uses gasoline for an electric one, carpooling or reducing food waste, participants weren’t very accurate when assessing how much those actions contributed to climate change, which is caused mostly by the release of greenhouse gases that happen when fuels like gasoline, oil and coal are burned.

Versant to rename MSNBC, drop famed peacock logos in Comcast separation
MSNBC will change its name later this year and drop the storied peacock image from its branding — the first real public-facing changes in Versant’s upcoming separation from Comcast’s NBCUniversal.

President Trump’s weaponization czar Ed Martin dropped hints that his team may soon take additional investigative actions against Sen. Adam Schiff and members of the since-defunct House Select Jan. 6 Committee who weren’t pardoned by former president Joe Biden.
Martin, who helms the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group, took note of the criminal probe of Schiff (D-Calif.) over allegations of mortgage fraud and strongly implied something else is in the works.

China’s New Physical Gold Mandate For Insurance Companies Will Reshape The World’s Gold Market
China launched an initiative that is likely to fundamentally alter the global gold market. Its insurance regulator issued a regulatory directive requiring certain insurance companies to allocate a fixed minimum portion of their huge assets to physical gold. This is unprecedented. It doesn’t quite take us all the way back to the gold standard at the turn of the 20th century, but it pushes in that direction. In short, via regulation, China, the world’s second-largest economy, has now created structural demand for gold that will support rising prices and its de-dollarization strategy.
In February 2025, China began a pilot program that allowed selected insurance companies to invest in physical gold. It was a first-time event. It had never been allowed before. The initiative involves 10 major insurers, including PICC Property & Casualty and China Life Insurance. It allows them to allocate up to 1% of their total assets to gold bullion.

Good News: Child Gender Clinics Are Finally Shutting Down
Here’s some good news you may not have heard. From coast to coast, child gender clinics are shutting down, thanks to the leadership of the Trump administration. Children are safer because of these closures – protected from radical transgender ideology and the sex changes that threaten their bodies, minds, and futures.
The latest gender clinic to announce its closure is at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, which confirmed this news on July 23. Just one day earlier, the gender clinic at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles closed. The L.A. clinic was one of the first and largest in the country, subjecting hundreds of children to invasive and irreversible transgender treatments, including hormones and surgeries. Do No Harm, where I work, has documented nearly 20 gender clinics and programs either pausing child sex changes or shutting down since the start of the year.

Trans athlete sues Swarthmore, NCAA, alleging discrimination
Former Swarthmore track and field athlete Evelyn Parts sued Swarthmore College, several athletic department officials and the NCAA on Thursday, claiming they discriminated against her because she is a transgender woman.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claims that the defendants violated Parts’ Title IX rights, inflicted emotional distress and engaged in a civil conspiracy.
The NCAA banned transgender women from competing in women’s sports on Feb. 6, a day after President Donald Trump’s executive order authorized federal agencies to penalize schools that allow transgender girls and women to compete in girls’ and women’s sports. Previously, the NCAA allowed transgender women to compete in women’s sports if they met sport-specific requirements.

Netanyahu Says He Backs ‘Greater Israel’ – Drawing Outrage From Arab States
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unleashed fresh controversy and anger among Arab countries and leaders by suggesting a huge land expanse of Israel’s borders in an interview he gave to i24 News.
In the newly published interview he said he is on a “historic and spiritual mission” and expressed strong attachment to the vision of a Greater Israel, which is a longtime reference to Israel encompasing parts of Jordan, Egypt and Syria – along with the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
It comes on the heels of some hardline Israeli officials and settler groups loudly proclaiming that soon Israeli forces will be in Damascus. This is all based on Biblical concepts of what God is said to have promised the Jews thousands of years ago.
